Amadeus Introducing Chatbot Technology for Flight Bookings

It is often said that chatbots are the way of the future and Amadeus has demonstrated its commitment to embracing technology in travel this month.

The company has launched a new chatbot which allows passengers to book and pay for flights via Facebook Messenger.

Amadeus Chatbot for Airlines also allows travellers to access booking information, as well as ask questions and raise queries about their trip. All through social media.

The current project is being trialled with Malaysian Airlines, but it is expected that more Travel Management Companies and airlines will adopt this technology over the next few years.

AI in Business Travel

We previously wrote about the rise of Artificial Intelligence enabled technology and the benefits that will bring for business travellers.

We work closely with Amadeus and other technology companies to help provide a more personalised, streamlined and integrated service to clients.

For example Beyond Business Travel recently improved our Out of Hours service and soon that will include support not just by email and phone, but also by Live Chat, iMessage, Facebook Messenger and SMS.

The Future of Travel Chatbots

It is expected that chatbots and instant messaging services will become more prominent within the travel industry over the next half decade. Unlike email, chatbots allow passengers to ask for and receive assistance instantly, throughout their journey. The whole process is backed by reliable data, which makes chatbots a very powerful tool, which provide a rich experience.
