Business Travellers Are Not Favouring Uber

Uber is beginning to lose ground in the business travel market, according to new research released this month.

The ridesharing app, which claims to provide “fast, reliable rides in minutes – day or night” was a hit with corporate travellers when it first took hold a few years ago. However it seems that, in the US at least, it’s competitor Lyft is holding a larger portion of the market share.

The Certify Spendsmith Report analyses data from automated travel expense software and claims that Uber is no longer dominating the business travel market. It’s reported that the firm have dropped, now being used by 54% of those travelling for work.

However, that doesn’t mean that business travellers are moving on from ridesharing technology or apps. If anything those platforms are growing in popularity, while both car hire and taxi use is on the wane.

It seems that Uber is taking its worst hits and being challenged most aggressively by competitors in large cities across the US.
