Corporate Travellers Want Better Technology…..Less Apps

Corporate travellers have become accustomed to using apps and websites to manage their trips. However moving into 2019 the increasingly tech savvy group want to make the process more streamlined.

New research suggests that travellers want to view and control more of their itineraries online, however they want to reduce the amount of apps needed from the average of 10-12 that they currently use.

Travelport’s 2018 Digital Traveler Survey found that while only one in five uses itinerary management tools, 55% of business travellers would be keen to try out a mobile application that managed their work journeys from beginning to end.

They want to be able to arrange car hire, reserve hotels, search for and book flights, check in for travel all on one dedicated platform.

64% of travellers also want to receive real-time flight alerts throughout their trips and be notified if there are any disruptions or changes.

Mobile Messenger App

All our clients also have access to our mobile messenger app, which allows us to contact the traveller and their manager at all times. This is particularly important in times of unrest, or when delays and disruptions occur. The app also allows for traveller tracking so that employers can know where their people are, at all times.

Edel Doherty, Managing Director at Beyond, added: “As part of our omnichannel strategy, Beyond Business Travel has recognised the need to make sure our business travel clients can be reached through whichever channel they choose – online through mobile, tablet, desktop or offline in our office, in their premises or over the phone.”
