Qatar launches Dublin / Doha flights

Business travellers rejoice. Qatar has launched it’s first direct flight from Dublin Airport to Doha.

Just weeks ago the inaugural flight took place, as the airline started a service which sees Dubliners now connected to destinations such as Sydney, Hong Kong, China, Melbourne and more. Jonathan Harding, Qatar President revealed that Irish business travellers will now be able to avail of connections to 150 cities globally.

Passengers will enjoy flying on a luxury Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Though the first Doha to Dublin flight made history as it took place on a Airbus A350 in June. It was the first time that substantial aircraft has ever touched down in Ireland.

Flights will run daily and football fans are already hoping they’ll get to use it if Ireland qualify for the World Cup in 2022.

The new service comes at a difficult time for Qatar, after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut off air, sea and land links due to a diplomatic crisis.

Flights between Dublin and Doha will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing Dublin at 3.25pm; and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing Dublin at 8.50am. Check out the timetable here.
