Exciting Growth Predicted For Business Travel Market

While much of Europe is still experiencing a period of economic stagnation, it has been predicted that the business travel market will continue to grow over the next five years.

Last week Technavio produced its Global Business Travel Report and anticipates that there will be growth of around 5.1% between 2017 and 2021.

Most of the growth will be due to the streamlining of processes and removal of pain points for travellers.

The three major reasons cited were “technological advances, digitalization of travel payments, and availability of business services in hotels.”

Technological advances include the use of travel apps, which allow employees to scan receipts and record expenses on the go. This removes the need to spend hours compiling expense reports upon the return to work.

Beyond Business Travel have seen an impressive adoption of our new online booking tool, where clients can compare hotel, airline, rail, car hire etc prices, locate destinations and venues on maps, monitor the status of and check in for flights and even leave reviews.

Improved hotel facilities include high speed wifi, conferencing facilities, meeting rooms and teleconferencing equipment.

However there are still challenges to growth in the corporate travel sector. The biggest challenge was found to be the perceived rise in terror threats and the duty of care implications this has for employers.

Travel Management Companies are therefore developing systems and technology to help put clients’ minds at ease.

Beyond Business Travel uses an instant alert system, provides 24/7 support and advice and facilitates traveller tracking for companies whose employees are on the road.
