For premium passengers travelling on United Airlines, a trial luggage delivery service is planned from 1st November 2019 when flying from Newark Liberty International to London Heathrow.
The hotels included in the trial are these five Marriott hotels in London city:
- JW Marriott Grosvenor House
- London Marriott Hotel Canary Wharf
- London Marriott Hotel County Hall
- Sheraton Grand London Park Lane
- St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel
The program will initially only apply to passengers flying in United’s Polaris premium cabin. The service will only require passengers only to collect their bags from the carousels and make their way to a designated bag drop desk to be delivered at their hotel.
Heathrow however does already provide its own baggage delivery service, available to any customer sitting in any seat and arriving at Heathrow from any airport and travelling to any location.
The “Transferbags” service costs £45 for the first bag delivered and £10 for each additional bag. Prices vary depending on the number of bags and the distance from Heathrow.
