New Flight Routes: Belfast City Airport to Cardiff, Palma de Mallorca & Liverpool

As they announce a massive investment package of £15 million in their terminal facilities, Belfast City Airport have confirmed a number of new flight routes in their forthcoming schedules.

A new summer route from Belfast to Palma de Mallorca Airport, to be operated by JetsGo Holidays, will run weekly from June until September 2018.

This is in addition to Flybe announcing an extension of its summer service from Belfast City with new flights from Belfast to Doncaster via Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, also added extra frequency to its winter schedule from Belfast City.

The extra services include twice daily flights to Cardiff, daily flights to Liverpool and an additional rotation to Manchester every Sunday – up from five flights to six.

Eastern Airways also announced new routes to the Isle of Man and Newcastle.

It’s been a big year for George Best Belfast City Airport and in late 2017 it was revealed that turnover soared past the £21 million mark last year. This was a rise of 1.7 per cent from the 2015 figure.

Last week Beyond Business Travel attended a business breakfast in Europa Hotel, where it was announced that work is progressing on a £15m infrastructure investment project.

The project will lead to a major upgrade in lounge facilities, increased retail and food space, as well as enhanced security and screening areas, making it an even more superb place for business travellers to fly out of.
