Freezing Weather Conditions Disrupting Business Travel in UK

Freezing weather conditions are continuing to spread across the UK causing delays and disruptions to roads, rail and some flights.

Already, more than 300 trains have been stopped from running, while British Airways confirmed that more than 100 flights have been cancelled.

Over the course of this week, it is expected that Great Britain will experience temperatures similar to those forecast in Iceland and Norway.

The MET Office has predicted that up to 10cm (4in) of snow could fall today, while double that is expected in some parts of eastern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland by Wednesday evening.

Greater Anglia stopped 200 trains over the course of Monday and Tuesday, while South Eastern advised customers to finish any journeys by 6pm, to avoid severe delays and disruption. Translink in Northern Ireland have cancelled a number of buses and trains, including their airport services. You can get the latest on NI delays here.

As expected, the weather conditions have severely affected business travellers in the region. We have contacted all our clients and arranged alternate travel. We will also continue to monitor and update with any further developments as the week continues.
