Storm Update: Flights Delayed & Cancelled in New York’s JFK, Laguardia, Newark & Boston Logan Airports

Flights in and out of a number of East Coast American airports are delayed and cancelled today, due to a winter snow storm which has hit the region.

Passengers travelling to and from New York’s JFK and Laguardia, Newark and Boston Logan may see their journey disrupted, due to severe weather which is spreading from North Carolina to New England.

CNN reports that the storm is causing widespread problems for US residents. Over 40,000 homes in Virginia and North Carolina are currently without power, while many schools in New York and Boston have closed. Around 3-6 inches of snow are expected in Philadelphia, 4-8 inches in New York City and over a foot in Boston.

Airplane landing in storm weather rainSnow isn’t the only problem for travellers. High winds are also hitting the area, with gusts as strong as 60 mph.

We have a number of clients affected by this latest weather development and we have contacted all who have been disrupted and made alternative bookings and arrangements. Anyone else travelling to the region, is advised to check the status of their flight before departing though it is expected that many flights will be cancelled with little notice, due to the fast changing nature of the storm.
