New travel advice for passengers travelling through Dublin Airport 4-7 August

Dublin Airport has issued new travel advice to travellers jetting off this bank holiday weekend.

The airport has already welcomed an extra 804,000 passengers in the first half of this year, compared to the same period in 2016. Bumper figures are expected from the 4-7th August (with Sunday predicted to be the busiest day) and to avoid delays and disruption, new guidance has been given.

Dublin Airport officials have advised travellers to check in at home, BEFORE arriving for their flight. Also, check carefully which terminal you depart from and all other details.

Arrive in good time for your flight, at least 90 minutes before unless your airline advises an even earlier arrival. Check hand luggage restrictions, be sure you are complying with liquid restrictions and have removed any sharp objects.

With immigration delays occurring throughout Europe currently, Aer Lingus has advised its passengers travelling through Dublins pre-clearance to allow three hours to clear this stage and proceed to gate.

Passenger volumes are continuing to grow according to Dublin Airport Managing Director, Vincent Harrison. “The addition of 12 new services to our route network this year, coupled with extra frequencies on many existing routes has contributed to the increases that we are experiencing in passenger numbers,” said Mr Harrison.
