Just six months after they launched their first route from the airport, Eastern Airways has added another destination to George Best Belfast City Airport’s network.
The inaugural flight left the runway this morning, after the airline confirmed in July that they will be flying from Belfast to Newcastle, linking business travellers from Northern Ireland to the North East of England.
Earlier this year, we reported that Eastern Airways had launched NI’s only direct flight to the Isle Of Man, after CityWing announced their liquidation and pulled their service.
The Belfast to Newcastle return flights will run on a daily weekday service and prices start from £59 one way. They can be booked at EasternAirways.com.
What This New Belfast to Newcastle Flight Means for Travellers
Edel Doherty, Managing Director at Beyond Business Travel, commented on what this new change means for business travellers in Northern Ireland:
“We have many corporate clients whose work leads them to Northumberland, Sunderland, Teesside and beyond, so the return of this Newcastle route to and from Northern Ireland is great news.”
“Direct air access to cities throughout Europe is essential to the business community in NI and we welcome this latest addition to Belfast City Airport’s network.”
