Easyjet Announce New Flights: Belfast to Isle of Man, Naples Italy, Valencia Spain

Easyjet have announced three new routes, which will be operating from Belfast International Airport next summer.

The budget airline will be operating flights from Belfast to Naples in Italy, Isle of Man and Valencia in Spain starting in June 2018. It brings the number of Easyjet destinations from Belfast to 31 and the airline will be introducing a new aircraft to the airport in preparation for expansion.

The Easyjet Isle Of Man flight will run all year round, while the Belfast to Italy and Spain routes will run twice a week over the summer period.

Easyjet’s new flights from Belfast is being celebrated by industry groups and unions in NI, as it’s being reported that the move could bring up to 175 new jobs to the airport. These will be split between pilots, cabin crew and ground staff.

Graham Keddie, managing director at Belfast International Airport, said: “The addition of twice weekly year-round jet services on key days to the Isle of Man will offer genuine opportunity to grow the market between Northern Ireland and IoM for both business and leisure travellers on what will by a quirk certainly be the shortest jet route within European airspace.”

Edel Doherty, Managing Directer at Beyond Business Travel added: “This is exciting news for business travellers in the region. While previously those travelling for work, would be forced to make their way to Dublin to reach these destinations, now we have a Northern Irish starting point. We are delighted with this announcement, the latest in a long line of good news stories from Belfast airports. It’s a great period of growth for the region.”
