The Rise of Mobile Apps in Business Travel


In the not too distant past, booking a flight for business would often have entailed a trip or at least a phone call to your travel agent. If a flight was cancelled, everyone flocked to airport customer service desks or phoned help desks and to find your way about a new city, there was nothing better than a good guidebook. How life has changed.

Now, travelling is made easier by technology and in recent years the sector has seen an explosion of apps which have proved vital to every aspect of journeys, trips and holidays.

In the corporate travel world, clients need to stay connected and multi task if they want to remain productive. A recent study found that 87% of travellers use Smartphones while travelling, making it an essential device.

The same study, conducted by Amadeus, found that 61% of business travellers use an app for flight check in, while more than half utilise applications when they reach their destination.
